Can Max be used in occupied areas?

No. Max is designed for use in unoccupied spaces only. During treatment, people and pets must vacate the area. While the solution used is non-toxic when applied as directed, it should not be inhaled, ingested, or come into contact with the eyes during the fogging process. After treatment is complete and the solution has fully evaporated, the space is safe to reenter—typically within one hour.

Yes, measles is an enveloped virus, which is easily inactivated by oxidizing disinfectants such as aerosolized hydrogen peroxide (aHP). Peer-reviewed studies show that hydrogen-peroxide disinfectants substantially reduce measles virus on surfaces, and our solution carries EPA-registered test data demonstrating inactivation of both enveloped and harder-to-kill non-enveloped viruses. Although measles-specific aHP room studies are not yet published, the evidence indicates that the standard cycles provide more than sufficient virucidal activity for measles-contaminated environments.

Bacillus atrophaeus is a bacterial spore that is used as a surrogate for C. diff because it is are recognized as a “worst-case” standard for disinfectant efficacy. Yes, evidence strongly supports the effectiveness of Breezy Blue™ against Candida auris (C. auris), an emerging fungus that can cause severe multidrug-resistant infections. Breezy HaloSpray™ is an EPA-registered fungicide with demonstrated kill claims for other fungi: Aspergillus niger and Trichophyton mentagrophytes. The germicidal efficacy of hydrogen peroxide against fungi and yeasts including the Candida species has been widely documented (ICHE 2017, CFIR 2023).

Our testing with Bacillus atrophaeus spore biological indicators (BIs) provides a “worst-case” for disinfectant efficacy testing because bacterial spores are significantly more resistant than vegetative fungi or yeasts. Both the U.S. EPA and CDC reference spore organisms in their guidance and test protocols as appropriate surrogates for demonstrating high-level efficacy of no-touch hydrogen peroxide technologies. Since C. auris is less resistant to oxidizing disinfectants than bacterial spores, our protocols using Bacillus atrophaeus BIs provide a conservative assurance of efficacy against C. auris within hospital environments.

A recent study of dry-fogged hydrogen peroxide for rapid terminal decontamination of isolation rooms in a healthcare institution found aHP to be an effective tool for disinfecting contaminated spaces with minimal risk of exposure to medical staff (Antimicrob Resist Infect Control 2025).

Yes, when using our recommended fogging protocols, the airborne silver concentration does not exceed the limit of detection (2.5 µg/sample). Peak airborne silver concentrations are well below OSHA's Time Weighted Average (TWA) Permissible Exposure Limit of 10 µg/m3 for silver. Testing consisted of area air monitoring for elemental silver during the fogging cycle with silver sampling performed in accordance with a modified NIOSH 7030 Method.
